Volunteer Requirements

1. Complete the Application

Complete and submit the Online Volunteer Application (**Please be advised that we are no longer able to accept new volunteers for the Ireland site since we are not able to obtain Garda vetting in time for camp. Returning volunteers may still register ONLY if you were garda vetted last year with Camp Veritas. Update June 21, 2023***) (Note that you must be 18 years old by the first day of camp. There are no exceptions!) Applications can be submitted after Jan. 1st.

For all volunteers residing in the USA or Irish volunteers planning to attend camp in the US: Go to our US website and follow the instructions there.

2. GARDA VETTING

All new volunteers are required to be GARDA vetted. You will receive an email from Philomena (philodprender@yahoo.co.uk) with detailed instructions and a link particular to you. You will need to provide;.

Proof ID i.e., your passport or driving license.
Proof of address with a Utility bill, land line phone bill, or bank statement with the applicant's name on it.

*Please see this link of FAQ from the GARDA, regarding what is acceptable or not for establishing identity.

3. Tusla Training

All new volunteers are required to have Tusla Training. This supplements the "Safer Spaces training" that we require in the States.

Submit your certificate in place of Safer Spaces in your Camp in Touch Account.

4. Application Approval

Once your application is approved, you will receive an email from our Volunteer Coordinator, welcoming you to the Camp Veritas Staff! (You must have completed the above steps before you can be approved, this includes completely filling out the application).

If you are an Irish citizen attending a camp in the US you will need to follow the instructions on the US page. When you send in the Background check form, you will send a photocopy of the ID page of your passport since you do not have a Social Security Number.

RETURNING VOLUNTEERS

Complete and submit the Online Volunteer Application. When completing your Online Volunteer Application, please review the information for accuracy and update it with the new week selections and your availability as necessary. GARDA Vetting needs to be re-submitted every three years. You will be notified by email if this is required.

If you are a returning volunteer from Ireland planning to attend camp in the States, please complete the volunteer instructions on the US website.

Are you a volunteer for the IRELAND CAMP wishing to make a donation? (Donations for Ireland Camp only.)

THIS WILL BE MADE OPTIONAL FOR THE 2023 CAMP VOLUNTEERS UNLESS WE SURPASS OUR VOLUNTEER NEED. YOU WILL BE CONTACTED IF WE NEED YOU TO DONATE TO ATTEND.

Volunteers for Ireland Camp who are residents of Ireland or countries other than the United States may make their $100 contribution to Camp Veritas by the following methods:

Visit www.campveritas.ie, go to the "Donations" page, and make your donation by credit card through Paypal.
Mail a cheque payable to "Camp Veritas" with "Volunteer Donation-Ireland Camp" in the memo line to: Camp Veritas, attn. R. Young, 67 Winter Park Drive, Hopewell Junction, NY, 12533, USA.
Make your donation in cash or cheque payable to "Camp Veritas" when you come to Camp Veritas in June.

Volunteers for Ireland Camp who are residents of the USA may make their $100 contribution to Camp Veritas Ireland by the following methods:
